Gain remote, network-level control over PC power states

SURVEYOR gives IT managers remote, network level control over the power states of all Microsoft Windows-based PC systems from Windows 95 to Vista: shutdown, standby, and hibernate for PCs, and sleep for monitors. Improve the success rate of your software updates, backups, and other network tasks

IT managers frequently install software updates on networked PCs, back up hard drives, and perform after-hours tasks that require PCs to be on. Even when asked not to, some users will shut down their PCs at the end of a day, and desktop administrators must either physically turn them back on, or accept less than 100% distribution success. SURVEYOR alleviates this problem by transferring control over PC power states from end-users to IT managers; for example, using SURVEYOR you can put all (or some) PCs to off mode at 6 p.m., wake them up at 8 p.m., perform your network tasks, and then put the PCs back to off.

SURVEYOR reduces energy consumption by one third (200 kilowatt-hours [kWh], per PC) per year on average, which lowers lifecycle operating costs by £45 to £120 per PC, assuming a three year replacement cycle.
