"We take our environmental responsibilities as an organization seriously, and we're making certain that Irwin Mitchell operates in a more sustainable and efficient manner," said Gary Thomas, Head of IT Operations at Irwin Mitchell. "SURVEYOR is helping us provide a significant eco-contribution through PC energy efficiency. Garnering energy and financial savings from the desktop provides an opportunity for an immediate impact."
In keeping with its corporate values of responsiveness, innovation, and solution, Irwin Mitchell strives for a strong GREEN track record, in advising clients as well as managing its own operations. As a firm, it began looking at its PC fleet as a place to reap significant energy savings. It moved employees to lower energy output monitors (LCD's) and then channelled its energy-efficiency efforts into the desktop. SURVEYOR was chosen over Vista because of its reporting and customization capabilities its ease of deployment and cross-enterprise installation.
Studies show that PCs and monitors use as much as 14 percent of all power consumed in office environments. By using Verdiem SURVEYOR, organizations like Irwin Mitchell can centrally manage the sleep, shut down and wake cycles to eliminate PC power waste and reduce spending on energy.
